Windows 10: Window 11 - Vertical Taskbar Option Gone - Really?!?!?!

For all my years using Windows I have much preferred having my Taskbar aligned vertically. I almost never need to left/right scroll because almost all views are much narrower than my screen Window 11 took away that option. Now I've lost vertical space and have to scroll vertically more often carpal tunnel much!. Microsoft, put the option to have the Taskbar in a more optimal vertical orientation. You are acting like Apple! Thanks for the Windows downdate.

Hi Jim,

To be able to drag the taskbar and make it narrower the way you like it, please unlock it first.

To do it, here are the steps:

• Right click on the Taskbar and unlock it by unchecking the
  Lock all taskbars option.
  
  
• Drag the edge of the bar and arrange it according to your preference.
• Right click on the task bar and lock it again once done.

Why did the startup window get cleared?

I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.
