Windows 10: Window 7 update error code 80072EFE

I recently install Window 7 Ultimate into my computer but when I try to get it to update on Window update, it always says "Code 80072EFE Windows update encountered an unknown error." Then, I go to services and change Window update to automatic,but it doesn't update Then, I try download many different KB update for x-64 bit system but the download says "the update is not applicable to your computer." I don't know what else to do. HELP.

I have had to resurrect an older computer in order to have one to work with while the new one is getting warranty work done. When trying to run windows update on this windows 7 computer, I always get error code 80072EFE? Is there a workaround for this?

I am getting an error code (80072EFE) that it tells me it doesn't know what it is. I am trying to upload an update for Windows 7 so I can update my malwarebyte program, but malwarebytes says it can't update without the Windows 7 update being insalled. What do I do?
