Window changes to full size when I snap a window into half

When I drag a window down, then to the left, it resizes the tab into full size instead of half of the window. This happens when "Show where I can snap next" was disabled.

Snapped windows reopening in wrong size, half off screen - Windows 7

I have notice a problem recently that when I snap windows to half the screen, they will next time open in a very small (<quarter size) and half off the screen. I have found several threads on how to fix the default size to something sensible again, but every
time I use snap again (which is always, its a great feature) the problem returns. Its really irritating to have to go fishing for a tiny piece of the header bar in order to drag it back into position. Any help appreciated!

This is on a 1440 monitor, on Windows 7.

  3. Anyone finding that Snap has changed?

It was a step back for me in the first 10 release, now after this upgrade its even worse. Desktop programs could be snapped in quadrants, now its only half screen like you say. The two metro apps I use won't even snap to half screen. They will only reduce to about 2/3 screen and won't snap at all. The hot keys don't work either? Did they change them? It used to be the Windows Logo key plus an arrow key.

Accessibility feature of Windows Snap in Windows 10

    Hello,

The mouse sensitivity while performing a Snap works in tandem with how it works in Windows. So, changing the mouse sensitivity will not impact the Snap feature functionality separately.

So to answer to your query, there is no such dedicated control/settings to change how mouse gestures will work for Snap feature in Windows.

However, a work around in this case is to use keyboard shortcuts:

    • Windows + Left Arrow
    • Windows + Right Arrow
This works to snap windows to the left and right half of the screen respectively.

    Hope the recommendation is helpful.
