Windows 10: Window keeps trying to update to 23H2, but stuck on 21H2 and can't download 22H2

I've done all I could find, even using the Win11 Install troubleshooter. When I use Win + R, type in WINVER, it gives 21H2 as my windows version. If I go into the window updater in Settings, it only lets me install 23H2, but then I can't. So then the loop continues again.TLDR: Windows wants to update to 23H2, but it can't cause it needs 22H2, which I also don't have, because I'm on 21H2 and 22H2 isn't available to download, because Windows wants me to download 23H2 instead, and loop.I have a Inspiron 7415.

21H2 to 23H2?

IMO, all updates should be covered. You can directly upgrade from 21H2 to 23H2, and skip 22H2.

Hi. Im baffled. I went back to a full os disk backup (its a full one the whole disk not just a regular backup) and when i write winver i get this (check images) and windows update tells me something else, i know i was on 23H2 but now when going back to this backup even though it backed up when i was on 23H2 it says 22H2, its obvious also when you look at the timestamp when updates where made, i have 22h2 current date updates and 23h2 update that is in the past, so i should be on 23h2 not 22h2 makes no sense.

 

Install of 23h2 on Win11 wipes out successful install of 22h2

My lenovo came with win11 21h2 and has been trying to install 22h2 for months. I finally went through the 15 step process (exaggeration) to fix it and finally 22h2 installed correctly.

Filled to the brim with hope, I tried the 23h2 install. Not only did it fail, it regressed my back to 21h2.

So I am officially dropping support of Microsoft. If they can't something simple like an update to work dependably, I don't expect the next release to be any better.
