Windows 10: Window update - Window 10

Hello I am having issue of screen go black after window update. I have window 10, and the update is "2023-12 cumulative update for windows 10 version 22h2 for x64-based systems kb5033375". Once it updated, I can log in, once log in the screen is black everything seems to be working, somehow I can click on help and it launched chrome. But I can't see anything. So I have to run task manager, then Shift+Power, select then chose Restart. Then on the screen, I restore computer to 12/13 basically before the update. Can you please let me know what to do, this version of window update its seems to

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.

Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.
