Windows 10: Window10 Pro Reinstallation

Hi,

I hope someone can help me. 1st windows10 pro became corrupt. I didn't do a backup correctly prior to all this happening. I used Dell Assist to do a recovery. All good it reinstalled the software and the system & MS created another ID automatically for my laptop.

Now new problems started. My MS assure was no longer there. My 365 Office pro plus was no longer there. My laptops ID had changed when I login at MS account. I couldn't access anything from my previous Laptop ID

I downloaded Office19 Pro Plus 365 three times it wouldn't install. I purchased credit to activate my subscription MS ate up the credit of my subscription for the 6 months in arears. I now have 6 months in credit.

All good! But didn't fix the install problem.

My prognosis is I have one laptop with two ID's is creating a conflict.

The only way I can see to fix it is to reinstate my original ID.
I have opened my bit locker and there is 2 recovery keys in there.


How can I enable the original ID & Recovery Key from the bit locker.

I am unable to use my paid up Assure assistance because I can not access due to the current ID of my laptop.

PS: I purchased the my new Dell XPS direct from Dell 6 months ago. It still has a Dell assist until 7/21 and they have been very helpful to this point.

Windows 10 reinstall


The Microsoft site says the ISOs contain,, among other things:

• 2 Tech Bench Scripts
• Steps for Creating an installation USB stick

I expect the scripts will allow you to create a Home (not Pro) or Pro version.
I'm downloading them now just to take a look.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Reinstallation of Window10 pro

Go to a working computer, download then create a bootable copy:

When you upgraded from a previous version of Windows or receive a new computer preinstalled with Windows 10, what happened is the hardware (your PC) will get a digital entitlement, where a unique signature of the computer will be stored on Microsoft
Activation Servers. The Windows 7 or Windows 8 genuine license you were previously running will be exchanged for a diagnostics key.

Anytime you need to reinstall Windows 10 on that machine, just proceed to reinstall Windows 10. It will automatically reactivate.
You will prompted to enter a product key a couple times through the installation, click I don't have a key and Do this later.

There is no need to know or get a new key, but if you have issues with Digital Licensing or the Activation Troubleshooter, you can utilize an existing Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 product key
you already ownto reactivate if necessary. or use the reset function in Windows 10.
