Windows 10: Windows 10 100% disk utilization caused by Chrome because Microsoft wants you to use Edge?...

I recently did a Windows 10 update, by the end of September. The highlight of it was aflashy new edge.


After this, it was impossible to work. 15 days of wasted time. Note that I do a simple job: I write in Word, use an online dictionary and search a few items in the web I write fiction in Spanish. Chrome started crashing, which was unusual, and the disk utilization was 100%, making it impossible to save my document or search items. Word started crashing too. The computer freezes.


You start looking for solutions, and dozens of tips come up: 1 disable windows search, 2 defragment your disks, 3 close start up apps, 4 disable background apps, 5 disable your antivirus...!!!! etc. etc.Why do I need to disable stuff if I have not changed anything myself???


If I don't download anything, if I don't change the settings, if I work as usual, why does my computer start crashing and freezing after an update? Shouldn't an update fix issues and improve performance?


After 15 days of frustration, I have disabled Chrome and voila disk utilization went down to 0-10% while I am writing this and have 4 tabs of edge open. Strange???


This is my suspicion: Microsoft doesn't want you to use Chrome for obvious reasons and is causing performance issues so you abandon it. Is this legal? Don't I have a right to choose my browser?


If Microsoft is not doing this, I would like to have a formal answer of why so many people have a 100% disk utilization when using Chrome and nothing when using Edge.

Windows 10 Dell Laptop is always running very slow due to 100% disk utilization even at startup. Task manager shows Google Chrome as the biggest utilizer even though only the home page is up. It is very frustrating as the laptop came with Windows 8 which
was running smoothly. Problem started once I upgraded to Windows 10. Is there any particular service I need to disable to avoid this 100% disk utilization all the time?
