Windows 10/11 changes display color profile on its own

Hello,I have an issue, where when I boot to Windows, I can see that the colors on my display are way off. Then I open the settings app, go to System -> Display, and the correct color profile applies. After I close the Settings app and re-open it at any point, it changes again to the wrong color profile, and I have to again go to System -> Display to fix this.I have manually set my color profile to the correct one for my Alienware AW3423DWF, I use HDR, and Display P3 color profile this is the same for system defaults. I also tried switching "Use Windows display callibration" on and off,

Cannot change color profile for display no 2

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Windows 10 requires the correct color profile to make sure your device shows colors as accurately as possible. Only when the correct profile is installed on your computer for an image device will you experience color accuracy
as intended by the company that designed that device. If colors don't render correctly on your display, chances are that's not due to a problem with the monitor. For us to help you with your concern, kindly answer the following questions:

    • What is the current build and version of your Windows 10? To check type in
winver on the search bar and press Enter.
    • Have you gone to the manufacturer's website to download the most updated monitor driver?
(Note: Kindly get the monitor driver, not the video driver.)

Meanwhile, we suggest that you check
    LG's website
and download the driver for your monitor. Kindly use the .icm file on the
Change advanced color management settings for displays, scanners using search.

We'll be waiting for your reply.

Screen color profile changes once a USB device is plugged.

    Hi Maher,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

In order to help you with the appropriate troubleshooting steps, please reply with the following details:

    • Does this issue occur only when connecting a USB device or it happens when you connect a HDMI/VGA cable?
    • What is the make and model of the computer?
    • Which build version of Windows is installed on the computer? To check type:
winver in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit
      Enter.

In the meantime, you can try calibrating the Display Color Profiles as per your requirement and see if that helps. Please follow the steps mentioned below:

    1. Type Color Management in the search bar on the
      Taskbar and open it.
    2. Click on Advanced Tab.
    3. Click on Calibrate Display, and follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate the display.
    4. If you want to change the Default system profile, then click on
Change system defaults, click on the profile that you want to make default and click on
Set as default to make the profile as the default profile.

For more information on Color Management, you can refer the article
    About Color Management
    .

You can also, try updating the Display drivers and check if that helps. Please refer the steps in the article

    Update drivers in Windows 10
. Here, after opening Device Manager, Expand Display adapters, and follow the steps mentioned in the article.

Please reply with the status of the issue, we will be glad to help you further.

Windows 10/11 changes display color profile on its own

Cannot change color profile for display no 2

I am struggling with setting up my new desktop with 2 displays. No 1 is Asus PD287Q and no 2 is OLG IPS 236VX. At first colors on both displays were quite bad, sort of green on no1, and red-blue on no 2. After much trial and error with color settings in
Windows and using buttons on each device, No 1 is now ok, after setting windows default color profile to sRGB (Control panel Color Management). Of course i try the same solution on display no 2, but that is not possible. No error indication, my efforts are
simply ignored. Both displays have the same NVIDA configuration (Other applications control color setting). dxdiag reveal no differences between the 2 displays.

No 1 is connected via a Display port, no 2 via hdmi. There is some indication that hdmi connection is causing the problem, but then - is that really possible? I can't test that properly since no 2 has no Display port.

Why can I not change color profile for display no 2? Any suggestions?

What else could I do to get decent colors on display no 2? The windows default - which i can't change - is now Wide Gamut RGB.

    Thank you in advance.
