Windows 10: Windows 10 & 11 - Shell Launcher Enabled - Blank Screen On Login

Hi, So using latest versions of Windows 10 & 11 22H2 with all updates applied.Control Panel - Programs -> Turn Windows Features on or off -> Device Lockdown -> Select Shell Launcher.Then reboot.One local user account which is admin.Create a ppkg from Windows Configuration Designer. Only settings enabled are:SMISettings -> ShellLauncher -> DefaultCustomShell = notepad.exe I have tried "C:\Windows\notepad.exe" still blank screenDefaultReturnCodeAction = Restart ShellEnable = trueApply the package to Windows client. Verify package is applied and can see it under Settings -&

Getting a black/blank screen before login

Every time I start windows 10 i get a blank screen before the login screen. If I use the restart button at the from of my PC the Windows 10 splash screen comes on and once I press the space bar I can login.

I did a clean install before all this started. I have used all the other fixes on repairing this ctrl alt del etc. My console monitor (samsung) works fine.

I've tried safe-mode and have no problems. Checked msconfig it running in normal mode. Used power shell and all the files are fine.

This has been going in since 11\2019 and it's really annoying. In the repair steps that talk about an adapter so DAAA what adapter is this?

If the status light doesn't turn on:

Press and hold the power button on your device for 10 seconds to turn it off, then unplug your adapter. After 30 seconds, plug your adapter back in and restart your device.

It would be nice if Windows 10 actually repaired your PC! How that hell do I fix this...........

 

Blank login screen after disabling AutoAdminLogin

I have an esoteric issue for you. Because of some special circumstances.

We have a Windows 10 computer that controls industrial equipment.

• Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC, Version 1809 (Build 17763.2237)

It came pre-built from the (German) vendor. They won’t let us provide our own computer, and then install their software. So, in other words, I can’t format the storage and reinstall Windows to fix this problem.

They sent it with AutoAdminLogin enabled and the DefaultUsername and DefaultPassword stored in clear text in the registry. Because of increasing cyber-security requirements, this is no longer acceptable. So, I disabled AutoAdminLogin by setting it to 0 and deleted the value for DefaultPassword.

Now, a password is required to complete bootup. But the problem is, we can’t see the login screen. It’s just blank. If we wait until we know it has booted up and waiting for the password, we can go ahead and type it in. But we can’t see what we are doing. So, sometimes it doesn’t work I guess because the cursor wasn’t in the right place.

• I have tried running Startup Repair, but it fails with “can’t repair your computer”.
• We have gone through the rest of the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon and just tried changing things. Trial and error. All error, no success.
• Just to check, I enabled the display for “netplwiz”. And it does show the box checked for “Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer.”
• This computer has never used Windows Hello, PIN, or fingerprint.
• I downloaded sysinternals and ran AutoLogin to toggle it on and off. Same results, we never see the login screen.
• I have Google searched this but haven’t found anyone with a similar problem.

If I could just format and reinstall, I would be fine. But I can’t do that.

Has anyone else ever seen behavior like this, where disabling auto login leaves the login screen blank?

 

Blank screen before Login

I've been using window 10 since day one and did a clean install 11/14/19. Started have problems around 6/20/19 upgrade.

Now using Windows 10 1909 V 18363.657. It keep getting a blank/black screen before I can see login screen. If i hit my rest button to reboot "once", I can usually get logged in, then my PC works great. However if I have to restart Bios again for a second blank screen, (this doesn't happen all the time), but my bios UEFI at boot. gets disabled. Once I go into bios with F2 key and enable UEFI on startup, then after bios completes (with no blank screen at all.)

If I shut down my pc the cycle starts with a blank screen again. This is ward!
I'm having others sleep problems but I address them when this is fixed.

My PC is old, Intel MB DZ68BC , Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 Ti card, Intel network adapter 82579V.
I'm using the last version of Intel bios, which no longer supports.

Also tried all the MS fixes for this and nothing helped.

I don't know if I can flash bios or the mothers board to fix this. Need instructions for this.
