Windows 10: Windows 10 17063 will not install - code 0xC0000005: ACCESS_VIOLATION

Trying to upgrade to 17063, Installer gets to PRE_OOBE phase, and rolls back to prev version.
The result is the same via Windows update, and trying a build 17063 ISO.
Delving in the logs reveals:
Code: FatalError [0x090001] PANTHR Exception (code 0xC0000005: ACCESS_VIOLATION) occurred at 0x00007FFE205E4643 in C:\Windows\System32\provengine.dll (+0000000000004643)[/quote] I have tried disabling most non MS drivers with autoruns, no change.
No Broadcom drivers installed.
Non essential devices removed from system.
SFC reports no issues, a DISM cleanup has been performed.

Logs and dump >> Errorlogsplusdump.zip - Hostr, download and share anything.

One odd aspect to it, which I feel is a clue, is that I have multiple 'Windows.Old' being generated every update attempt (currently at Windows.old(25))
All Windows.old are exactly the same folder structure, containing one branch of folders, with the last one throwing an error when opened

Windows Upgrade Fails to Install Error Code C1900101

Not using a SCSI disk.

Tried the Clean Boot install still hangs at the same point. The fatal error I am getting in the logs has not changed either.

FatalError [0x090001] PANTHR Exception (code 0xC0000005: ACCESS_VIOLATION) occurred at 0x00007FFF1889EBDC in C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\SetupPlatform.dll (+000000000027EBDC).

 

Windows 10 fails to install on 64 bit windows 8.1 pro with media centre

Update fails every way I try with the same message. Windows Update or USB drive. Have tried for two days now.

I get the following message as the last entry in the C:\$Windows.~BT\Sources\panther\setuperr.log

FatalError [0x090001] PANTHR Exception (code 0xC0000005: ACCESS_VIOLATION) occurred at 0x00007FFFCF6717BE in C:\WINDOWS\system32\msvcrt.dll (+00000000000017BE)

Yep, its been throwing the same issue since trying to upgrade to 17046.

System has yet to fully crash updating, no GSOD, just rollback after a reboot. I'll do as requested and uncheck auto restart, but I'd like to understand how this might help?

 

There have been multiple crashes and the crashes have not been properly producing BSOD.
The crash dump initialization failed.
In addition the software was set to clean the dumps.

1) For disk cleanup un-check > system created error reporting
2) For Ccleaner > un-check > Memory dumps, windows log files, windows error reporting
3) Download and install Whocrashed > in the left upper corner above analyze click on tools > crash dump test > type: ACCEPT
