Windows 10: windows 10 1803 update failed

Hello I need help please.

The 1803 windows 10 update was attempted today via the update & security in the background when I was working on the pc.

This make it the 7th attempt, each failed with an error code of oxc1900101 or 0x80070002.

When I looked at update after todays fail the was another attempt in progress. This had prevented defender updates also.

I'm on a capped internet connection but that assent stopped the pushed update. I need help to ether sort out the problem or stop the pushed update of 1803.

It is odd that the Manuel installer that I downloaded also fails port way through the update process. This installer says if you don't like the update you can revert back to the original. At around 80% complete the installer reverts back to the original giving the stated errors but update & security insists on trying to install again.


I would appreciate any help with this.

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

 

Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.
