    Windows 10 1803 update keeps crashing


    Hi - My laptop crashes when trying to update Windows 10 to release 1803. Gets stuck at 1% in the "Working on updates" screen. Sometimes the wheel keeps turning, sometimes it doesn't. After 24hs or so, I turn it off, and Windows goes back to the earlier version with no issues.


    It has been doing it since the first time it downloaded 1803 few months ago, and keeps downloading and trying to install the update every once in a while.


    Have tried cleanup-image, pnpclean, etc. to no avail.


    It's an Acer Aspire S7 and doesn't appear in the Acer website as being "tested" for Windows 10 Creators Update. However, updates before 1803 had worked fine. Later updates to 1709 also keep downloading and installing fine.


    How can I make the update work?


    … and/or in the meantime, how can I prevent it from downloading and trying to install 1803, so it remains with the 1709 periodic updates that work ok?

    Windows 10 1803 doesn't play nice with some Intel SSDs

    Legit Reviews is reporting that Windows 10 1803 has issues with some Intel SSDs, specifically their 600p series: "When attempting to upgrade to Window 10 April 2018 Update select devices with certain Intel SSDs may enter a UEFI screen reboot or crash repeatedly." Microsoft and/or Intel are working on a fix.
