Windows 10: Windows 10 1909 End of Life Question

Sometime in May Windows 10, 1909 reaches end of life. Having never encountered this I'm really curious as to what May+x will look like. I've read many a post here from folks still running Windows 7, so I'm pretty sure that I won't get a window that pops up saying upgrade or else. But, will Windows Defender still get definition updates, and will Windows Defender get its own update as is normal every month? The second Tuesday CUs will stop I guess, but based on the last couple of months, that may not be all that bad. I also have Microsoft Office 2019 installed, will that continue to get updates?

I'm sure that at some point I'll update to either 2004 or straight to 20H2, but right now I've got too many things going on to really risk bricking the laptop if I don't need to. Thanks!

Windows 10 End of Life

Hi,

Can someone tell me if the following versions of 10 are End of Life and are no longer receiving Security or Critical updates please?

Windows 10 Pro - 10.0.16299

Windows 10 Pro - 10.0.14393

Windows 10 Pro - 10.0.15063

Windows 10 Pro - 10.0.16299

Windows 10 Enterprise - 10.0.17134

I have seen a lot of articles suggesting that the top 4 are. I just want some re-assurance.

Windows 10 will reach end of life on 14 October 2025 only for Windows 10 Enterprise 2015 LTSB and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2015 LTSB. As you can see here:

Windows 10 won't reach end of life, but each Windows 10 version has an end of life. You only have to keep Windows 10 updated and it won't reach end of life, as Windows 10 is the last Operating System released by Microsoft as for now.

 

Windows 10 1909 Causes Secondary Hard Drive to not be Recognized

Installing the Windows 10 1909 Update causes my secondary hard drive to not be recognized.

Steps to confirm issue:

• Secondary drive not visible in Windows Explorer
• Secondary drive not visible in device manager
• Secondary drive not visible in disk manager

Steps to replicate issue:

• Installing 1909 update

Steps to resolve issue:

• Uninstall 1909 update

Since updates can only be delayed for so long, an actual fix would be appreciated.
