    It appears that in windows 10 v 2004 that 802.1x does not release and renew the ip address of the ethernet port if the computer has authenticated before the user and the user login prompts a vlan change. We are only seeing this behavior on wired connections.

    Summary of problem:

    Computer is connected to an 802.1x port.

    upon login our policy puts the computer, if part of the domain in a domain user vlan.

    If an admin logs in they are put into an admin vlan.

    When the admin logs in the vlan changes and we see the successful authentication on our radius server.

    After login and vlan change on the switch the computer does not pull a new address for the new vlan.

    Currently we are trying to implement a scheduled task on the Event ID 15505 to resolve this issue. This is only happening in the 2004 release.

    Is anyone else seeing this? Is this a bug?

    Hi Cosmin

    There is currently no exact date for the release of version 2004 of Windows 10 put out by Microsoft, that is expected to be released in April, and most likely will be, unless there is any major bug found in that release . . .

    You reference version 1709 in your question, can you please provide more information on that part of your question . . .
