Windows 10: Windows 10 2004 and chrome.exe not working even after reinstalling chrome

Basically my dad needs chrome to run specific work based websites, up till now chrome has been working fine without issues. However now when you go to run chrome even as admin it doesn't open. However it does trigger two instances of chrome to be running in task manager background but no .exe. even with ending all chrome based processes chrome won't open UNTIL I go to app properties "in task manager"and run in compatibility mode using the app troubleshooter, with windows 8 then it works without issues only on

My main frustration is even if your "change" the compability troubleshooter to keep the settings for now to run with a windows 8 bootleg or whatever it still runs through the same issue unless you use the "test" version which seems to make chrome boot.

TLDR; win10 2004 seems to be causing chrome.exe to not open(but intermittently), seems to only run when booting through app compatibility troubleshooter and running it through windows 8. Even with fresh install of chrome issues remain.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance and sorry if format is not up to par

Windows 10 and Google chrome problems

As you have mentioned that now you rolled back to windows 7 ultimate.I would suggest you to follow the steps given below and check.

Uninstall and reinstall Google Chrome and check

To uninstall and reinstall Google Chrome follow the steps given below.

• 
  Press start button.
  
• 
  Select Control Panel.
  
• 
  In Control Panel , Click on
  Programs
  
• 
  Then Click on Programs and features.
  
• 
  Select Google Chrome and Click Uninstall button
  

Uninstall Chrome prompt dialog appears and the further uninstallation process continues if you click uninstall button. Once Google Chrome gets uninstalled, you can download and install Google Chrome from its official website,
and check if issue persists.

If issue still didn’t get resolved by the above mentioned steps, I would also suggest you to post the query in Google support forums for more help.

chrome will not open

IK reinstalled the KB and a Silverlight update, no luck. I tried to remove chrome , again, using the suggested tool. Chrome was not on the list, I selected not listed. It wanted the product code. A quick internet search did not find it. I removed chrome
using the add and remove programs.,reinstalled chrome and ran the clean up tool, no malware. chrome now opens.. I have signed in and it is working. The second removal worked. thx

Thank you for your response with the current update on the issue.

As suggested in the previous post, I recommend you to first uninstall the google chrome browser from the computer.

After that try to download the google chrome browser software from the google website. Then try to reinstall google chrome browser software in compatible mode where you will install the software in previous version of Windows.

I suggest you to follow the steps provided in the previous post to reinstall the google chrome browser.
