Windows 10: Windows 10 2004 clean install - Constant BSOD ~5min after login

After the last Fubar of 20H2 of a release, I had to baremetal my system with 2004 and now I get BSODs after logging and about 5 min or when I start browsing internet with Chrome. it seems that either Chrome or Edge or Microsoft Word would trigger this issue.


The bugcheck was: 0x00000050 0xffffffffffffff89, 0x0000000000000002, 0xfffff80274218375, 0x0000000000000002. A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000.

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000001e 0xffffffffc000001d, 0xfffff80451e52f00, 0xffff938f3c325080, 0xffff938f3c325080. A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000.


The minidump was useless and it would point to different issues related to various drivers which are all up to date. I do have an Original Windows 10 install DVD but I really dont want to go back to that version and step back into 2004 and have the same issues.


It does appear to be a memory leak of some sort but I cannot isolate the issue.


OS 2004 w/all updates except 20H2 and today's chkdsk fix


Hardware drivers are all up to date w/majority are drivers in 2018-2020.


Applications installed so far. didn't get past this before BSODs. It's repeatable.

- Office 365

- Onedrive part of Office 365, MeetNow, and Teams all part of MS installs

- Edge Chromium browser MS install

- Chrome Browser


Memcheck shows no memory issues

dsim shows no health issues

SSD: Smart shows no issues. It is a SATA SSD NVM but it's using IST storage vs AHCI but this hasnt posed issues before.

Clean Install Workaround for Vista

You may remember this news story on techPowerUp! a couple of days ago relating to the lack of clean installs when using the Upgrade Editions of Vista, which required an old OS to be installed. However, Paul Thurrott has managed to find a workaround for this issue, which ironically lets users do a clean install Vista without any previous version of Windows, albeit a little tedious. Here are the steps:

• Boot from the Windows Vista Upgrade DVD as normal
• When prompted for a product code, leave this blank
• Select the version of Vista you have purchased and let Vista install
• When you boot to your desktop for the first time, run the Vista setup from Windows
• This time enter your product key
• When asked whether you want to do an Upgrade of Custom install, select custom and choose a clean install
• Windows will now install for a second time and you should be able to activate it

Remember, these steps are only advised for use in order to achieve a clean install of Vista, it is only legal to use the upgrade editions if you have previously purchased the appropriate version of Windows.

Constant BSOD even on stock default

Yeah, I just formatted yesterday and I'm still getting the constant BSODs.
