Windows 10: Windows 10 2004 KB4571756 breaks important windows features

there are widespread reports of the latest update causing wsl to break, giving an endpoint error. but it apparently also breaks windows sandbox as well. also, windows defender application guard is nonfunctional. I haven't tested Hyper-V yet, but given that all the things that aren't working all depend on Hyper-V, I would hazard a guess and say that is not working either.


the error's WSL is giving off, has already been well documented, so i will not re-hash them here.


the errors windows sandbox is giving are as follows: "Windows Sandbox failed to start. Error 0x800706d9. There are no more endpoints available from the endpoint mapper."

this error is the same as the error given by WSL.

as for Windows defender application guard, there is simply no way to access it from edge. uninstalling and reinstalling the component from add/remove windows features does not make the feature appear in edge. It is like the WDAG browser 'extension' is not working or something.


and last, but not least the update keeps wanting to install again, even though the system has already successfully installed the update and the minor build version is now 19041.508. I have tried manually downloading the update, and when I try to install it, the update tells me it is already installed, and aborts. so I don't know why windows keeps saying it is installing the update, and then asking to reboot.

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows 10 Pro and Ergnomic Break Reminder

Do you remember installing any break reminder software?



It looks like it is a pop up from a break reminder software.



I suggest you to look for this in Programs in features and uninstall it if do not use it.



Try the following steps:

• 
  Press Windows + R keys to open Run Command
  
• 
  Type Appwiz.cpl and hit enter
  
• 
  Search for the programs and un-install it.
