Windows 10: Windows 10 2004 Update, Errors 0x80070002, 0x8007042b

Hello,


Running Windows 10 Enterprise 1909 Edition. Been unable to do any update since late April 2020. I get Error 0x80070002. I have also tried to do Windows 10 2004 feature update from Windows update and it doesn't work either.


I tried this:

net stop bits
net stop cryptsvc
net stop wuauserv
net stop msiserver
Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
Ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
net start bits
net start cryptsvc
net start wuauserv
net start msiserver


Tried to completely reset windows update using: Reset_Reregister_Windows_Update_Components.bat script you can find on the internet and manually doing what this site says https://pureinfotech.com/reset-windows-update-windows-10-fix-downloads-installs/


Still get same 0x80070002 error.


I then tried to use Windows10Upgrade9252 assistant tool and it eventually errors out with Something went wrong, Error 0x8007042b. After that I went into the panther logs to retrieve the error and got this log

After this failed I tried the Windows Media creation tool and tried to do the upgrade from it and it said "This tool can’t update your PC"



I'm usually able to solve most windows issues and I'm literally stumped on this one. Anybody have any suggestions besides a complete reinstall of Windows. Thanks in advance for any help.

Dear All,

I am running Windows 10 v 1909 on an amd64 kaveri box.

I am having difficulty upgrading the 2004 update.

I am getting the 0x80070002 error.

I have tried quite a few different approaches to beating it but do far it has refused to install.

Suggestions on the best way to get round this would be appreciated.

Error 0x80070002 when trying to update Windows

I have been having issues for months with Windows 10 updates failing due to Error 0x80070002 on my gaming laptop. The full message reads:

2019-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4503286) -Error 0x80070002.

I am currently on version 1803 (OS Build 17134.590) and I'm being told "You're currently running a version of windows that's nearing the end of support. We recommend you update to the most recent version of Windows 10 now to get the latest features and security improvements."

I have followed the instructions on Error Code 0x80070002 Fixed – Eassos Step-by-Step Tutorial but this hasn't resolved the problem. Does anybody know how to fix this?
