Windows 10: Windows 10 20H2 crashes while entering sleep mode and requires hard reset to recover

Hello, I have a slightly older Toshiba KIRA laptop i5-4200U https://anz.dynabook.com/products/computers/kira/kirabook/psu8sa-00t00u/specifications and having issues with a crash while entering sleep mode. When it happens my only option is to hard reset the computer and restart. I tried removing everything drivers/software without success, so reluctantly, I have blown away my entire install and installed a clean 20H2 image and only installed Microsoft products. The clean install appeared to work ok for the first few days of testing, but as I allowed the updates to occur an

Your diagram does not show the part that I suggested you look for.

It's just a text file. Look for the line Power Setting GUID: 3c0bc021-c8a8-4e07-a973-6b14cbcb2b7e (Turn off display after)

Not entering sleep properly,- fan spin and led lights on.

Got an issue, sometimes when entering sleep mode windows and the pc (intel nuc) continue the normal procedure but seems to miss the last step.

Instead of turning off the power button led it stays on, also the fan spins. Then the only way to turn it on is to hold in the power button and hard reset.

Any ideas?

Incorrect power settings is one of the possible reasons why your computer shuts down after it enters the sleep mode. We suggest that you try running the Power troubleshooter to troubleshoot the issue. You can follow the steps below:

• Press the Windows key+ X key on the keyboard and select
  Control Panel.
• Type Troubleshooting in the search bar on the Control Panel.
  
• Click on View all on the left navigation pane. Click on
  Power.
• Click on Advanced on the power troubleshooter dialog box and click on
  Run as administrator (Enter the credentials if required).
• Click on Next and follow onscreen instruction complete the
  Power troubleshooter.

If the issue persists, kindly try to follow these steps to reset the power settings:

• Press Windows key + X from your keyboard.
• Choose Command Prompt (Admin)
  from the context menu.
• In the command prompt, type powercfg –restoredefaultschemes and press
  Enter.
• Exit command prompt.

Note: This would reset the power plan settings to default. Any customized power plans are would be removed. I suggest you to check whether you are getting the sleep option after resetting the power settings.
