Windows 10: Windows 10 22H2 Update hangs at 48%

Hi,I have been trying to install the Windows 10 22H2 update on my laptop a Dell Precision. I have tried numerous ways Check for Updates, using the installer app and multiple times, but what is happening is that the install part of the update finishes and reboots the machine which then shows the blue page with the percentage and, everytime, it gets to 48%, it freezes. Also, when t gets to that point the laptop HD activity LED goes off.I've also tried numerous things to get it working like create a new user account, etc., but no matter what I try, it always gets stuck at the same place, an

If you can't install it from windows update you can try to install it manually, it's the same KB5015684 obtained with windows update.

Do dism and sfc /scannow commands before and/or after installing it.

 

Windows Update suddenly hangs?

Windows Update is suddenly hanging for some reason... I went and downloaded and installed the first bunch of updates, restarted when asked, and now when I go back to windows update I just get the window with a white box forever. Reboot and it still does it. This happens to be on my main machine, running windows 7.

I've also noticed when I reboot it says configuring windows update, step 3 of 3, 47%. Maybe it somehow skipped something and is screwed forever?

I wish things are that simple. My error code was 0x80246017, and I don't have KB5020435 installed so it's a dead end. BTW, MS lists like 6 or 7 error codes of the format 0x8024xxxx on the "troubleshooting WU problems", and when you chose next step, it suggests generic steps: run WU troubleshooter, check if your disk has no errors, is your remote disk is accessible, etc. Same as MS community; each similar error has completely different cause and (re)solution.
MS in notorious for this- if it works then OK, if it doesn't then good luck.
