    Windows 10, 3 month old Dell XPS, second meltdown, restore point loop?


    3 months with a high end Dell XPS, Windows 10. 1 month ago, i had a major failure and after half a day with Dell support, we reimaged Windows.


    I got to a blue screen and recovery loop again yesterday and spend 4 hours with tech support at Dell again Hardware Ok, bios settings ok. etc. They wanted to reimage Windows again but I just cant do that every month who can?. wow.


    Finally I somehow was able to get to Restore points and found that my image 4 days ago was solid? So I restored back to that point and I was up and running all day today and was productive again.


    Tonight - I am back to bluescreen. Recovery, etc. But I was able to restore back to 4 days ago again.


    What is going on? Some kind of auto update that my PC doesnt like? I am just running the MSFT stack with Chome and Adobe. Nothing else at this point. I am back running again after restoring to 4 days ago, but how do I prevent needed to restore again tomorrow?


    Any advice and insight would be much appreciated. I threw down for an expensive laptop thinking I wouldn't have to deal with these issues with a high end machine. Now this thing is so unreliable. Is this some wacky hardware issue?

    windows xp duel boot with vista restore points

    Turn off system restore in XP altogether...or if you dont want to, AsRocks suggestion should work :\

    When I installed the major Windows 10 update in December, my fingerprint reader stopped working and my PIN stopped working. Ive tried to back through the set-up procedure for both and it is not working. Dell tech support is telling me to REINSTALL THE OPERATING
    SYSTEM!! This is BS!!
