Windows 10: Windows 10 4K MP4 Video clips Red Green Yellow Video Editor and Thumbnails no longer updating

In late May of 2024, my PC with a i7-6700K CPU and AMD- RX 6700 XT GPU Card weird they both 6700 btw out of nowhere started to not function correctly. Using Pinnacle 25, the 4K mp4 clips likely h.265 would start out with red green and yellow colors and then for some correct itself midway. My File Explorer thumbnails, after cache was cleared would now no longer show a picture for my 4K video clips only.My attempted solution was to just upgrade to Pinnacle 26. Nothing changed.Then I went all crazy and USB reboot install my Windows 10 and software. Thinking that perhaps my previous versio

Windows 10 Video Editor is Missing

I am running Win10; if I install the version that you mentioned, would it run on WIN10? What must I do to install the version that includes the WIN10 Video Editor program? Where do I go to get it? Here is what I am confronted with:

1. Win10's Video Editor is no longer available to me; it is not included with my installed version of Windows10 x64 Home, which has auto updates already installed.
2. The Photos app that is embedded within my OS does not allow me to use Clip Champ as a desktop PC-installed app; it appears that only an online version of Clip Champ is available.

I have viewed several YouTube tutorials on Clip Champ, and believe that it would be useful to me. I am convinced that Clip Champ (or a WIN10 Video Editor) program would be a worthwhile improvement compared with the Windows Movie Maker that I, as a newbie/novice to video editing, am presently using.

• If there is a way that I may install Clip Champ (first choice) onto my PC, rather than an online version, I would greatly appreciate being instructed how that task can be done.
• If there is a way that I may install the WIN10 Video Editor (second choice) onto my PC I would also greatly appreciate being instructed how that task can be done.

I am more than willing to make the effort, but need newbie, detailed, step-by-step instructions. Let me also say that I am grateful for the assistance and information already provided.

 

Windows 10 Video Editor is Missing

Hi: I have just finished converting 8mm and super 8mm film to Movie####.MP4 files on my desktop PC. I have read that Windows10 includes a video editor; however, when I enter "video editor" into the Win10 search bar, I get: "No results found for video editor". What gives ? I recall that this PC started with XP and then upgraded to Win8/8.1 and then again to Win10 x64 Home. Could that be the reason why the win10 video editor is missing? I am not a subscriber to MS365. Windows Movie Maker is installed, and I have spent some time trying to learn to use WMM. However, after watching a YouTube turorial for the Win10 video editor, I believe that the win10 video editor would be easier to learn and more enhanced than WMM. Is it possible for me to now add the video editor function? Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated. TIA. ______________________________________________________________________________________ 12 FEB 2024: Okay; my initial problem/question is solved. I found that some of the features that the Clip Champ editor offered at one time (i.e., installation onto local HDD) is no longer possible. So, I am now concentrating on using the available OnLine version of Clip Champ with my Windows10 desktop PC to edit the 20 or so MP4 files that were created by using a borrowed KODAK Reels Scanner device. The aforementioned task may very well be my only need for me to use a video editor. I do have some MP4 videos that were originally created using a digital devive. Maybe I will find a need to compile some of those files into an edited movie(s). But for now I am not thinking about that. The 8mm MP4 library will keep me busy for a while. I am grateful for the comments and suggestions received. I have learned some new things..... Thank you all.

There's actually no audio.

It's video clips that make up the whole finished mp4 I need to fade in/out.

But from what I am reading, this is not possible with the video editor that comes with Windows 10 Pro.
