Windows 10: Windows 10 500mb system partition keeps showing up.

Hello,I have a 508mb drive that keeps showing up in file explorer as drive s.I've looked up a similar problem, https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/mysterious-d-drive-500mb-appears-after-windows/01523ab6-abf6-4b7d-8de9-9b5aea82959dThe thread says it's a problem from 2018, however I built my PC in 2020. I can go through the steps, running diskpart as administrator, selecting the volume and removing the assigned letter, but it re-appears after a restart. Windows is up to date. How can I permanently remove this system partition from showing up? I'm afraid I might accidentally ov

Help! Data partition not showing under my computer

This is happening on a windows 2000 server. Our second partition of the system, for data is not showing under my computer. Here are the properties of it in disk management:





Now under logical drives its listed as F and shows free space available.

Suggestions on how to fix this?

 

Recovery Partition vs System Reserved Partition

Both original & target SSD's are listed as MBR as opposed to UEFI. I may have created a partition unknowingly in getting the original/new unformatted drive recognized, but I don't recall taking any steps that Windows did not step me through.

Not that an upgrade to WIN 10 Pro is contemplated, but I suspect that having no System Reserved partition will not allow that to happen, after seeing how the original WIN 10 upgrade created a problem for some WIN 7 users that had a smaller 100mb vs 500mb System Reserved partition.

 

Create a System Reserved Partition and keep original OS

When you talk about System Reserved Partition, I assume you installed Windows using MBR partition scheme. All you need to do:
For Windows 10, The System reserved partition size is 500MB so:

1. Use Magic Partition Manager Software to shrink C drive and create a 500MB partition, format as NTFS in front of C drive.
2. Use EasyBCD 2.2 - Neowin to move the BCD to the newly created partition, rename it as System Reserved and remove the drive letter from this partition.
   
   
   
   NOTE: use the drive letter assigned for 500MB partition istead of C as shown in screen shot.
