Windows 10: Windows 10 64-bit - MS Wireless Keyboard 3000 not working

Recently updated to latest build for Windows 10. Now MS Wireless Keyboard 3000 and mouse not working. Device mgr shows "Unknown USB Device Device Descriptor Request Failed". Unable to find compatible driver. Please assist, thank you.

I suggest you to connect the keyboard to a different computer and check if it works.

Apart from wireless keyboard, I would also suggest you to connect wired keyboard to the computer and check the status.

If issue still persists, try the steps provided below and check if it helps.

Check in compatibility mode.

Download the keyboard drivers from your computer manufacture website for Windows 10.

Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

• Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website.
• Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘properties’.
• Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed
  with the installation.
• Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Hi flavallee. I know this already. But thank you for clarifying that even further.





And as you can see, that is what I am currently using. I appreciate your effort because this tells me that there is no other Microsoft-Intel "official" driver that is later than the one I am currently using.

I have to make another apology and change the title to: I NEED a Windows 10 64-bit CUSTOM/MODIFIED Driver for Intel HD 3000 that completely activates all its designed features like it did with older versions of Windows because the most current Microsoft-Intel Windows 10 64-bit driver (9.17.10.4459) does not fully utilize its features.

Until I can get the games on that compatibility list on the Intel website to run again on my laptop, this search will not end.

Thank you, bobkn, for your answer and for taking the time. I apologize if my initial post was a bit confusing. Please allow me to clear things up a bit.

This was actually my point. In the Intel website and in Wikipedia (as you pointed out), it supports DirectX 10.1 in hardware (I am fine with that if that's really true). While it would be interesting to actually get it to theoretically support DirectX 11 on hardware or software emulation, my intention is not only that. I want a driver that will activate all its features previously available in Windows 7/8 in Windows 10. In short, Intel HD 3000 is not fully utilized in Windows 10.

To further prove this, there is a list of compatible games on the Intel website on HD 3000 running on Windows 7 (Playable Games List for Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000/2000). I have 90% of all the games on that list, probably more. But I can tell you that I can't run half of them on Windows 10 on my laptop but I can run the same games on another machine with a GeForce card and Windows 10.

Example: I tried Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and X3 Terran Conflict on my laptop. These games won't even run but they are supposed to run flawlessly on Windows 7 in the same machine as stated above. I tried them on my desktop PC with GTX-1080 running the same version and build of Windows 10, and they work fine - even in Ultra graphics settings. That means, these games have no compatibility problems with Windows 10 itself so the problem must be with graphics support.

So, the complete title of this thread should be: I NEED a Windows 10 64-bit Driver for Intel HD 3000 that completely activates all its designed features like it did with older versions of Windows.
