Windows 10: Windows 10 64 hang at Windows Logo after upgrade to two CPUs

Hi, First time posting here.


I have a Dell T5500 running Win 10 Pro and one Xeon 5675 with no issues at all. Recently, I added the second Xeon 5675 and the system BIOS showed both CPUs and memories are OK. However, the system would hang indefinitely with the Win logo. Tried to boot from a USB and the same problem.


Remove the second CPU and the system would be normal again. So used the MSCONFIG and changed the number of processor from 1 to 2 under the Boot section. The system would pass the Win logo and indicated I have file missing window.exe and gave me options to either "enter" to try to reboot or use "F8" to boot from another device. But would not go further.


Tried to boot from a USB drive and encounter the same issue.



Swap the two CPU gave the same outcome.


The system would also boot from the same USB drive with no issue when use only one CPU.


Any help would be very much appreciated.

Computer hangs on Windows Logo, help!

As title when loading my computer it freezes on the windows logo. I am using Windows XP SP2 OR maybe SP3, can't remember.*Laugh :laugh:

Now i can't get into Safe Mode because that hangs on BMLoad.sys.

 

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:

• Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
• Try different keyboard or mouse.
• Restart computer, repeatedly.
• Google for related issues.
• Update Bios, because why not.
• Create boot media and revert to windows 7.

The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.

OK, i tried repairing using the Windows Disk and i still hang at the windows logo screen...good news is that i can get back in on safe mode. Might be a good time to back up all the stuff i need and reinstall. Although i don't want to have to do that.
