    Windows 10-64 Retail Box activation trouble after changing a new bought motherboard


    Dear Friends, hello.After re-installing the new motherboard - Gigabyte B550M DS3H, the server of www.microsoft.com has found two another PC connected with this motherboard.But, today I have bought this motherboard at "Rozetka" in Kyiv, Ukraine, there is a check and guarantee on the 36 monthes for this motherboard.I have only this PC registered in my account of www.microsoft.com. I have the Retail Box version of Microsoft 7 Pro, which has to be bought by me on 20.07.2013 and updated to Windows 10-64 Pro for free with the help of the online technical support.     ACTIVATION AFTER I CHANGED MOTHERBOARD AND CPU

    It depends on how Windows 10 was originally configured on your computer.

    If its a full retail store bought license online or offline, it is transferable to a new computer or motherboard.

    If its the free upgrade from a retail store bought Windows 7 or Windows 8 license, it is transferable to a new computer or motherboard.

    If its the free upgrade from a OEM preinstalled Windows 7 or Windows 8 license, it is NOT transferable to a new computer or motherboard.

    New Motherboard, Windows 10 activation

    An OEM version of Windows 10 is not transferrable to a new device. Changing the motherboard is a new device and so requires a new licence key.

    If you are using a boxed retail product then try the Activation Troubleshooter.
