Windows 10: Windows 10 64bit product key after dual boot disaster.

I recently managed to crash my pc big time by accidently messing up the boot controller.Previously running Windows 7 64 bit & Windows 10 32 bit. To repair the boot controller I had to install Windows 10 64 bit over the windows 7 partition. The 64 bit version is now requesting a valid product key, as in desperation I used a key from the web to install the OS. Where can I purchase a genuine product key for the 64 bit Windows 10, 32 bit is working fine.

Dual Boot with same windows Product key.

I have setup a PC with dual boot (windows 10 professional ) . This pc has its own OEM product key for windows 10 professional.

in here can i use the same product key on both windows 10 ?

 

Update a dual boot Windows 7 32bit to Windows 10 64bit

I am currently using a dual boot PC with Windows7 ultimate(32bit) running along with Ubuntu 12.04.
I am planning to upgrade my PC to Windows 10 keeping the dual boot.
I also want to clean install windows 10 after the upgrade to switch it to 64Bit as I am planning to increase my RAM to 8GB.
Will I need to reinstall Ubuntu after clean installing windows 10 64bit?(I heard the windows boot-loader ignores Ubuntu after clean install).
And the main problem is if i can do clean install Windows10 without formatting my other drives except "Local disk:C" because I have a lot of files on them.
Can anyone give me a step by step guide for clean installing by formatting my current "C" drive only please...*Rolleyes
I want to keep my files on other partitions safe...

 

Dual Booting with Windows 8.1


The procedure below will allow you to boot Windows separately or in dual boot configuration.
Here's what I recommend to do:

1. Disconnect the drive containing Windows 8.1
2. Install Windows 10 with one drive connected.
3. After step 2, reconnect the drive containing Windows 8.1
4. Boot up Windows 8.1. Open disk management and take a note of the drive letter of Windows 10 OS.
   NOTE: if you boot up Windows 10, then take a note of Windows 8.1 drive letter
5. Open Admin command prompt and type: bcdboot X:\windows where X: is the drive letter of Windows 10 (Windows 8.1 if you boot from Windows 10 in step 4)
6. Reboot the PC. You should have a dual boot screen.

NOTE: To break off the dual boot setting, Win+R->msconfig->boot and delete the none default entry on the list.
