    Windows 10 Account not Syncing on new computer


    I have recently set up Windows 10 for my parents on a new computer for my parents and I am in the midst of trying to transfer all their settings and data from their old system across.

    As the default Windows 10 account on the new system that you create on initial set up I used my mothers Microsoft account details, and logged in to her account using her passwords etc. However her account failed to sync and bring over setting from her user account on her old computer. In the settings page on the new system, her account user picture is the standard Black Circle with 'person outline' icon, and her wallpaper, themes and desktop are the basic Windows 10 ones. The accounts on both systems are set to the same Microsoft account and both computers are registered as devices in her Microsoft Account management page.

    However when I set up a new account for my Father, using his Microsoft account, everything synced perfectly straight away.

    Why wouldn't my Mothers account be syncing on the new system but my Fathers is?

    Windows 10 Mail App problem

    Two Windows 10 computers using the same account can access eachothers files (even if one has file sharing disabled!)

    If you are using the same Microsoft account for both computers, some things will sync, depending on your settings.


    Understanding the New Sync Settings in Windows 10

    In particular, files in OneDrive folders will transfer.

    Probably an obvious question , but the setting on her account to synch settings is definitely turned ON on the old PC?
