Windows 10: Windows 10 Account Won't Change Name

I've manually gone online to my windows account and changed my name there, but it doesn't appear on reboot of any of my devices. Occassionally, it will do it the first time after reboot if I try to change it to something else. When I try to go change my name again, it displays my old name as the account name, but when I click edit name, it's whatever I've most recently changed it to. It's not because I've changed it frequently either, because I've only been changing it so much because it didn't work the first time.

I recently updated my Nokia 630 to windows 8.1 but now I have 13 apps needing updating which I can't do because it keeps asking for my password for an email account name which I have never used. it won't let me change the account name to my correct Microsoft
account name and it won't accept my current account password.

 

How to change the computer name?

In Windows 10 you can change the name on a user account in Control Panel - User Accounts - Change your Account Name.

What you cannot do in Windows 10 is change the name on the folder belonging to that account. Even though you change the account name, the folder you refer to will not change its name.

The only way to do this in Windows 10 is to create a new User Account, copy tour files over to it, log into the new account and delete the old account . . .
