Windows 10: Windows 10 Action Center, Calendar, Program Install, Groove & other windows load blank...

Since the latest 1903 Feature Update, my Explorer malfunctions repeatedly, failing to display the Start menu. I am unable to install a program because the install window comes up blank. Groove, Calendar, and other like MS programs come up blank and eventually turn off. I've checked my BIOS and it is up to date. I noticed some recommended disconnecting USB external hard drives before running the update. But, MS chooses to run the update and I did not disconnect my external drives as MS never instructed me to do so.


After several restarts, the whole computer is 'buggie' and sluggish. Action Center displays no icons, despite Setup indicating icons display.


Can I survive this MS Update to 1903 w/o having to completely reload my OS?

Any tips as to how to resolve more easily?


I have tried to install the Features Update to 1903 and it resulted in no change.

Disable Action Center in Windows 7?

Unfortunately that doesn't disable Action Center, all it does it cause Acution Center to bitch about the Security Center service not running.

Action Center seems to be a different beast from Security Center...

And telling it to not display any messages gets it out of the way, the same way disabling the icon in the suggestions above does, but Action Center is still enabled and running.

thats why you uncheck all of the boxes all i think action center is is a warning about various other aspects of the pc. so just uncheck everything and it wont complain about jack or show the icon its worked on countless 7 formats with me. though i do agree security center is diffirent i wasnt entirely implying that it was the same more like security center in itself is also an unneeded program

granted but unchecking what it monitors surely is a way to lighten the load? id imagine anyway seeing as your telling it not to actuively check those programs

 

Windows 10 installing progs

I decided to take the plunge and upgrade to windows 10 from 7. I used the Media Creation Tool from MS website. It took awhile, but I am finally running Windows 10 (12-14).

I opened the new App & Program feature to remove programs that I no longer needed. Scrolling down the list, I was horrified! Apps that I didn't install somehow magically installed themselves. Two programs stood out: Facebook and Candy Crush Soda Saga. Both programs have those tale-tale icons that they came from Windows Store (which I've never even opened). The install date for both of them were on 12-26.

Is this a common thing for Windows 10? Or is it because I did an upgrade and not a clean install?
