Windows 10: Windows 10 Action Center no longer opens.

Like the subject says, when I click on the action center icon on the bottom right of the screen nothing happens. Right clicking brings up a menu, but when I choose "Open action center" still, nothing happens. When I choose the snipping tool by pressing win+shift+s and make a selection it's lost because it normally goes to... wait for it... the action center, which no longer opens.


I've tried restarting windows explorer, disk scan/fix, and also tried running sfc /scannow, but can't get past the verification process due to system files in use.


Is there a MS troubleshooter or easy fix for this?

Disable Action Center in Windows 7?

Unfortunately that doesn't disable Action Center, all it does it cause Acution Center to bitch about the Security Center service not running.

Action Center seems to be a different beast from Security Center...

And telling it to not display any messages gets it out of the way, the same way disabling the icon in the suggestions above does, but Action Center is still enabled and running.
