Windows 10: Windows 10 Activation after Hardware Upgrade

Upgraded my motherboard today. I'm aware it ties its Windows 10 Key to the motherboard. Terrible idea by the way. Old one is dead, can't even re-install it to get the info if it exists on there and I probably wouldn't regardless. I have the windows 10 account tied to my Microsoft account which I've logged into the PC with since the installation was done. It is saying that I need to activate windows 10. I've tried the Troubleshoot option and it shows me the Windows 10 service from my PC before the upgrade and I choose that this is the device I'm using and it just says it can't activate at this time and suggests I buy a copy of Windows 10. What can I do to resolve this without having to buy another copy of Windows 10?

or you could hack it with a crack but please note this is always risky and you don't know what's in the hack

I won't buy a key, stupid.

I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
is that causing the problem?

 

Windows 10 Activation (Insider)

This kinda sucks. However, if one is upgrading from a retail W7/8, then it should activate on different hardware, with possible phone activation required if it's been over 120 days or whatever the timeout period is now since the last activation. Remember to erase the copy on the old hardware, of course.
