  1. Windows 10 Activation after new PC Build

    • I just built a new PC and transferred my SSD with Windows 10 to it. I upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 7.
-On the Settings>Update & Security>Activation tab, it reads that in I have Windows 10 Education.
-Error reads "Windows reported that the hardware of your device has changed. Error code 0xC004F211"
    • I tried to troubleshoot
-I clicked "Changed hardware on this device recently"
-Since my Windows was linked to my Microsoft Account, I see the option to choose my desktop.
-I see "Desktop-4D68ONU Windows 10 Education" and check "This is the device I'm using right now" and click Activate
-I get "Unable to activate Windows, We can't activate Windows on this device. Try again later."
-I clicked "Go to Store" and Microsoft Store opens reading "We're not sure how you got here, but you can't buy this version of Windows 10 Code 0x8000FFFF"

    • I wasn't sure what Window license I have because I think OEM have to buy a new license after hardware change so I ran a CMD Prompt " slmgr -dli " and this is what I got
      -Name: Windows(R) Education edition
-Description: Windows(R) Operating System, RETAIL channel
      -Partial Product Key: RVVYY
      -License Status: Notification
      -Notification Reason: 0xC004F034

    • I don't know what to do now, can anyone help?

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?

Windows 10 Activation after new PC Build

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
