Windows 10: Windows 10 Activation Issues

I upgraded from a genuine copy of Windows 8.1 Professional x64 to Windows 10 Professional x64 during the free upgrade period, and after a few months, the creators updated came out and then I updated it to that due to the wannacry exploit thing that's been going on, then, after I updated it to the build 1703, It now says that my windows isn't activated, and I tried to troubleshoot it, even by going to the store and seeing if it can make my windows "genuine" even if it already is.. so please, I need help.. any answers would be nice.. thanks!

Windows 10 upgrade makes my computer shut down randomly

I have the same issue. MY Windows 10 is a new OEM install. BECAUSE, last update fried my hardrive. So new SSD Drives, New OEM professional install and SINCE that install, nothing but random shutdowns. Professional diagnostic from a nationally known computer
center could not find anything. Thought it was a power cord issue. PLEASE UPDATE Windows 10. From the web searches I see Many Many people having this issue. SO, when it came time for my son to go off to college, we decided to buy him a MAC laptop.

It's a lot more than a 'few months' from the end of the official free upgrade period to the beginning of the public Creator's edition release a few weeks back...

Else you could call your regional activation centre.

 

The free upgrade period ended on July 29, 2016, which is a lot longer than a few months since the free upgrade period.

You would have gotten a digital license saved on MS servers if you were part of the free upgrade, and you can reactivate Windows in the event of a reinstall of Windows.

It should not be asking for reactivation after a feature update.

 

Open a Command Prompt (Admin) or Powershell (Admin) and run:

slmgr /ato

 

It's probably just a delay in the activation after the upgrade. Give it a while. But make sure that your PC is logged in to your Microsoft account for the activation to initiate.

Which the command in post #4 overcomes by initiating the online activation manually. Many people have experienced a failure to activate from the graphical activation screen under settings - updates & security - activation and the manual command has activated it for them.

 

Thanks for sharing the command but I got an error which looks like this.. any clues? I have important files in my pc and I don't have anything to store the files to cause my laptop broke..

 

What- no backups? You do realise some people find their PCs are unbootable after attempting a build upgrade? You are taking a significant risk.

Do yourself an enormous favour, buy a 1 or 2Tb USB hard drive, and start using disk imaging routinely as we do. (Macrium Reflect (free) yes free + its boot disk + that drive).

Seems you have corrupt licence files...





Run WDT and check for tampered items and that the licencing service = true.
