Windows 10: Windows 10 activation message

I am frequently getting a message that I need to activate windows. I have an HP computer that I purchased from a reputable retailer about 3 years ago and Windows 10 was installed on it by the retailer. So far I have been able to activate windows by running the troubleshooter but this error message is getting annoying. Is there a way to correct the situation?

I won't buy a key, stupid.

I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
is that causing the problem?
