Windows 10: windows 10 activation on motherboard change

Hi,i need change my motherboard,anyone got windows 10 activated on this situation? I dont have windows pre-installed on this pc,have windows 8 dvd with licence code from store and windows 10 activated on old motherboard already.
In windows 8,there was phone activation that worked,but windows 10?

Depends how you installed Windows 10. If it was an upgrade from a OEM Windows 7 or 8 then you cannot change the motherboard. If you purchased Windows 10 OEM you cannot change motherboard. (unless you buy a new key)

If you upgraded from Windows 7 or 8 retail you may be able to activate after a motherboard change. If you purchased Windows 10 retail then you can change the motherboard. You may have to phone support or use the option to activate after a hardware change.

Once your Windows 8 is installed and activated, you have two choices. You can install all updates, and wait for the GWX icon to appear and do an upgrade to 10 from Windows Update, or download the Media Creation Tool and manually upgrade. This assumes that you have a retail license of Windows 8 (not an OEM one). If you have an OEM, you either need to buy a new license of Windows 10 or a new license of 7 or 8.x and upgrade.
