Windows 10: Windows 10 activation problem

Hi,A week ago I updated my bios, and yesterday I installed an optional cumulative windows update. A few hours later "activate windows prompt" appeared on the bottom right hand side of the screenI mentioned both of these instances because I'm not sure which triggered the activation prompt to appear. I went to windows activation and it says I changed hardware recently, which I didn't. I've had the exact same problem a few years back, and we solved it here on community, thanks to Greg Carmack. link to threadI tried re-entering the OEM key I previously use but I get this after clicking on "act

How long did you wait for activation?
When I re-installed with a fresh install... it took a few hours to sync and activate.
However, it did, finally, activate.

I won't buy a key, stupid.

I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
is that causing the problem?

I suggest you to activate the copy of Windows 10 via phone by following the steps below:

• Press “Windows key + R” and type “slui 4” and press Enter.
• Select your Region/Country.
• Select the Phone Activation option, and hold on for a real person.
