Windows 10: Windows 10 activation problem

I downloaded Windows 10 operation tools aren't you a flash drive from Microsoft website I tried to install it in my desktop and it turned my screen black and said that this copy of Windows is not genuine but I didn't inserted it in my laptop and it worked perfect I have Windows 10 on that now so I decided to try it again on my desktop when I did it's give me the same problem as it did the first time and key and when I call customer support they are no help they keep running around the same question and I keep explaining to them the same thing I cannot locate my product key for Windows 7 because it's no longer on a sticker on the back on the inside system where you go to it it does not give me the product number it just tells me it's Windows 7 when I try to find it from the manufacturers notes he did not put it in there so therefore I cannot locate my number and I'm stuck right where I'm at I can't afford to pay for anything I'm broke can somebody help me please point me in the right direction or tell me what I should do thank you

Windows 10 Activation (Insider)

How long did you wait for activation?
When I re-installed with a fresh install... it took a few hours to sync and activate.
However, it did, finally, activate.

I won't buy a key, stupid.

I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
is that causing the problem?
