Windows 10: windows 10 activation

My dell win 10 laptop has lost its activation twice now.

I don't know how it was originally installed. I won this at an auction for benefit of a childrens hospital.

The troubleshooter takes two attempts before activating. I don't know if a virus or something else is causing the problem. I have Norton security suite, spybot paid subscription and Malwarebytes.

I am trying to locate the product key so I have it on file elsewhere just in case. Is there a way to do this?

I won't buy a key, stupid.

I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
is that causing the problem?
