Windows 10: Windows 10 activation

I upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10.


I must have received a digital license, but could not find it anywhere. I wrote down the product key that I was able to find for it.


I had to buy a new hard drive and installed windows 10 from a recovery disc that I bought through Amazon.


Now I want to activate Windows 10, but the license that I wrote down or the product key is obvious not the right one. I don't have a way to retrieve any information from the Windows 10 upgrade of Windows 7, and also not the product key.


Now I have Windows 10 installed but no license key for it.


It would have been at this point a good idea when any license keys, especially upgraded license, are stored in the Microsoft account page.


I searched the internet and found free Microsoft 10 keys of which I tried to enter a few, all not working.


I would expect that Microsoft makes it clear that these free key offer are not genuine and remove any content and presence of them as well as clearly states that they are simply illegal.


I searched Amazon where key's are sold starting at 3.50 €. The reviews are divided, before I buy such a code would I like to hear a statement of Microsoft for my issue.


And do not tell me that I have to buy a 100 pound Windows 10 home license, or 200 pound Windows 10 pro license or that I have to first install Windows 7 again, to then upgrade again to Windows 10. All this because of a schizophrenic management for Windows 10 licenses?


The easiest way is to bind and record Windows 10 license to the Microsoft account, when then appears a Windows 7 license in the account with a free offer to Windows 10, should then appear a Windows 10 license in the account that can be used.


I can provide you with my original Windows 7 license, but not with the Windows 10 license of the upgrade.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

I won't buy a key, stupid.

I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
is that causing the problem?
