Windows 10: Windows 10 Activation

So for the longest time i have been running an un-activated version of windows 10 pro that i installed from a friends copy. I was running it for like 2 years. I have now bought an actual windows 10 home key from a third party retailer and i am trying to activate it. But no matter what i do it is not working. It says i can't connect to my organizations network and when i try to change product key it tells me it can't be done. Is there anyway to reset to abslute nothing and have it ask to me input a key or any way to wipe my computer and install windows 10 home using the key i got?

I won't buy a key, stupid.

I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
is that causing the problem?
