  1. Windows 10 Activity History - Policy to keep it enabled without allowed changes?

I have an enterprising 14 year old who keeps turning off activity history, thusly messing up our Family Safety app reporting.

I found a GPO section to enable activity monitoring - (Computer config -> Admin Templates -> System -> OS Policies -> Allow publishing/upload of User activities). However, I can’t find documentation of a policy setting where the kid can’t uncheck it (grey out the box, but keep it checked.)

It kind of sucks that Microsoft let’s a family managed user turn this off.... so if there isn’t a GPO to keep that check mark checked, is there any other way to keep the kid from disabling this?

    Thanks!

  2. How to enable developer mode in Windows 10

    Hi Roshan,

Thank you for posting in Community.

We are glad to provide the assistance required to help resolve the issue.

For now, I suggest that you perform the steps below to enable Developer Mode via Group Policy and check.

    1. Open Group Policy Editor and navigate to the following setting:

Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > App Package Deployment

    2. You will need to edit and Enable the following two policies

    • Allow all trusted apps to install
    • Allows development of Windows Store apps and installing them from an integrated development environment (IDE

    Hope this helps

Windows 10 Activity History - Policy to keep it enabled without allowed changes?

    Group Policy on home machine?!?!?!?!?

    Hi,

Had the same issue on a number of occasions. This is what solved it for me:

Steps to fix 'Some settings are managed by your organization' message in Windows 10
Make sure you have administrator rights and follow the steps below:

Step 1: Launch Run prompt by right clicking the Windows Start menu icon. Type in gpedit.msc and click OK or Enter.
Step 2: In Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc), go to Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Data Collection and Preview Builds.
Step 3: Find the Allow Telemetry item and double-click it to edit the policies.
Step 4: Change the setting to Enabled. Change the drop-down menu entry to 3-Full and click Apply.
Step 5: Now open the item again and change its Setting to Not configured and hit the Save button.
The message should no longer stop you from accessing various system settings in Windows 10.

    Cheers, *Wink
