Windows 10: windows 10 administrator cannot delete files

Discus and support windows 10 administrator cannot delete files in Windows 10 Customization to solve the problem; I see millions of people have this problem and it is not fixed so here goes again...I am the administrator of my laptop yet I cannot delete some...     windows 10 administrator cannot delete files


    I see millions of people have this problem and it is not fixed so here goes again...I am the administrator of my laptop yet I cannot delete some folders and files I have created on it. I've looked through and tried to apply numerous "fixes" and none work. Most have about 20 steps of which half follow a process that I can see on my screen and then start to not match up with what I see on my screen. Is there a real way to fix this problem or is it just a guess?

    Windows 10 Tweaks

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Deleting Hiberfil & Pagefile

    You would have to move your Page File to a different drive to get rid of that file, however you can make is smaller by adjusting the size in Windows.

    To get rid of Hyberfile.sys you need to disable hibernation by doing the following:

    • Click Start, and then type cmd in the Start Search box.
    • In the search results list, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as Administrator.
    • When you are prompted by User Account Control, click Continue.
    • At the command prompt, type powercfg.exe /hibernate off, and then press ENTER.
    • Type exit and then press ENTER to close the Command Prompt window
    Then you can delete the hyberfile.sys file.

    windows 10 administrator cannot delete files

    windows 10 deleted my desktop files

    Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

    Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

    copied all files again to desktop.

    Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

    Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

    • Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
    • Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
    • Click on Users, select your User name
    • Go to desktop folder
    Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.
