Windows 10: Windows 10 All users taskbar folder location.

Does anyone know how to set taskbar icons for all users in windows 10?

More descriptive thread titles are always useful rather than generic ones.

If you want to copy/move all shortcuts pinned to the taskbar to another location, just go to the following folder where they're stored:

%AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar

or the expanded version:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar

You can do this for the following folders:

Desktop

Documents

Downloads

Favorites

Music

Pictures

Saved Games

Searches

Videos

I don't know if you can move the 3D Objects folder.

 

They are stored in C:\Users\<User name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar for each user. I think you'd have to copy in the shortcuts you wanted from a template.

 

Thank you, I was hoping this to work with all users. Looks like I will run a script once for each user when they log on.

 

Your system specs say you have 8.1. Do you have 8.1 Pro (or 10 Pro) by any chance?

If so you can set the taskbar and then stop users changing it through group policy. Group Policy Settings for Start Menu and Taskbar
