Windows 10: Windows 10 always 100% Disk usage

I got the free upgrade to Windows 10 back when it was available through Windows Update on my Dell Optiplex 780 and ever since, when I open the task manager, it always shows "Disk 100%" and that column is always red. Even when sorted high to low with 'More Details' showing, there is only one 1.0 MB and everything else is 0.0 or 0.1. The Disk usage always remains 100% as long as the machine it turned on.

Does anybody know what the problem could be?

cpu usage and disk usage is always high

am using windows 10 and my cpu and disk usage always raising to 99 or sometimes 100. what do I do

 

100% Disc Usage

I recently bought a new laptop for several days running smoothly. but now I do not know why my disk usage is always 100%. recently hosted service: local system is the most widely took my disk usage. when i play games like left4dead2 always lag because my
disk usage is 100%. Sometimes 'system and compressed memory' and 'windows audio device graph isolation' also took my disk usage until i couldn't watch Youtube.

I'm running windows 10 on Asus x550j and for anti-virus i'm using '360 total security'.

Hi, as ever when posting questions about usage, please post a screenshot of your task manager showing the relevant processes using your disk.

If it's system or svchost.exe, please download process explorer (free) and post a screenshot showing those.

Meanwhile please feel free to search the forum where you will find a good number of threads on high disk usage which may help you as you can see: (I searched for "100% disk usage")

 

I have same issue too, a task called "composing" or something like that, use my HDD sometimes, specially in windows startup, which takes several minutes to end, never had such issue in windows 7. This cause me to can't use windows for several minutes after startup, I thought windows 10 fast startup is an advantage to 7 but actually 7 is faster as at least it doesn't prevent me from using windows after startup!

 

Please, please, post a screenshot of your task manager. Sorry, no idea what a task called composing is- doesn't sound like an OS function.

What happens to disk usage:
a. In safe mode
b. After a clean boot.

And use the forum as a resource: use the solved threads on this topic to point you in appropriate directions to try to resolve this. See my post above- and feel free to use the search box for the forum.

When I hover mouse on this process in that tool, it shows "error" so I don't know which app is behind using this process.
