Windows 10: Windows 10 and 11 BSOD: PFN_LIST_CORRUPT on new build PC

BSOD with windows 10 PFN_LIST_CORRUPT

My computer crashed right after finishing a video conference with Microsoft Teams. I am using Windows 10 Pro build version 1909 OS build 18363.836.

My fans were spinning fast, and as soon as the microsoft teams meeting ended, I saw a BSOD with PFN_LIST_CORRUPT

The computer restarted, and under event viewer it said it died during a bug check and a dump was saved. Report Id: 44b20622-9ba0-42d8-8c9d-d3e555cd9e27

My computer has been randomly failing here and there, this is quite concerning. I did not install any new drivers, devices, or peripherals. Previous BSODs have been with other causes, first time I have seen PFN_LIST_CORRUPT.

What is the best way forward? How can I see what crashed here, and how can I prevent future crashes? The BSOD always seems to appear during heavy usage periods which is unfortunate because I have a business laptop specifically for heavy usage.

 

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?
