Windows 10: Windows 10 and Quicken Home Inventory conflict

I am using Quicken 2017 R17 Home and Business on a Windows 10 operating system.. For some reason, the Home Inventory program no longer allows me to access detail view. When I click on the detail icon for any item, it appears that the boundary of the detail box tries to open, but then the program closes without any notice. The problem happens using my laptop, but does not happen with my desktop. I don’t know if this is a mouse driver issue, Window update issue, or Quicken issue. The program worked fine earlier this year.

Windows Defender and Quicken 2018 Conflicts

At normal startup, my list of processes looks like this:

When I open Quicken, which takes forever to complete opening (see next screen shot):

The Windows DAS seems to get rather "excited" in that it fires up and starts using 6% of CPU or so and Quicken immediately goes into "Not Responding"

Patiently waiting (like, go make a cup of coffee - I just time it and it took over 3:30 seconds for Quicken to finish opening), the screen returns to this:

Notice that Windows DAS is not longer using a significant amount of CPU:

Once I enter my password for the Quicken One Step Update and let the process run, operations of the CPU and Memory remain normal. In my process of trying to eliminate these huge stalls, I turned off Quicken Update Bills. Before I did that the process would
stall out, Quicken Not Responding and Windows DAS "excited".

After One Step Update finishes and I start my process of Accepting the Downloaded Transactions, all remains normal UNTIL I open the Wells Fargo Checking Account. Then the Not Responding/Windows DAS "excited" process starts all over again. It only does
so in the WF Checking Account Register. Each transaction accepted can take upwards of 35 seconds to process and have Quicken start responding again.

In conclusion: I don't know that it is a "Conflict" but the parallel evidence sure seems to indicate that is the current paradigm. I do not get any "error messages" other than the frequent "Quicken Not Responding".

IF it would resolve the significant loss of time I go through everyday when I use Quicken, I would like to eliminate it from Windows DAS scans.

 

Windows 10 Error Code 2503 comes up when uninstalling Quicken. Unable to uninstall quicken. How do I correct this problem?

• How did you try to uninstall Quicken?

Kindly try the steps below and check if this helps.

• Using the Windows search feature, look for Control Panel.
• Click Control Panel Desktop app to open.
• Choose Programs.
• Under Programs and Features, click on Uninstall a Program.
• Find Quicken in the list of programs. They are alphabetically ordered. Highlight it by clicking on it once.
  
• Click on Uninstall at the top of the list and follow through the prompts until the program is removed.
  

If the issue still persists, I suggest you to contact Quicken support regarding this matter for assistance.
