  1. Windows 10 and the new worthless Edge upgrade.

Well, I was late getting something to my boss today because my computer was updating AGAIN. The update for Edge is less than useless. Do you people even use your own product???

I now need to go through 3 times the motions just to get to a certain favorite and finding anything is ridiculous. I work for one of the largest health care companies on the planet and our IT people have told me that Windows 10 is, without challenge, the MOST invasive piece of spyware ever unleashed on humanity.

However, something MUST be done about these windows 10 updates, they are almost constant and forced upon us at the most inconvenient times. Many times when you need to log on quick or shutdown and leave,,, there's mother Microsoft sticking it to you again.

Several years back, I had a PowerPoint presentation to deliver, worked weeks on that thing. On the day of my big chance, there I was in a room full of 112 people and when I power up, BAM, windows goes into updating. 3 hours later the meeting was postponed and it cost me dearly, a promotion and a very healthy raise.

As I speak, my wife's 2 month old laptop is updating and has been for 2+ hours, such ****. You know, I buy my expensive Windows 10 operating systems at retail Best Buy or Newegg for my custom built gaming desktops and I also buy my laptops at a retail outlet. EACH and EVERY ONE comes with a unique COA # which I alone possess. That makes that particular copy of windows 10 MINE, NOT YOURS. I believe that when you enter it without my permission, you are trespassing. \

Auto makers have recalls but they send you a letter to take the vehicle in for serviceat a time convenient for the customer. They do not come to the house, break into the vehicle and do as they please. Same, exact difference.

This needs challenged in court and I think I know just the attorney for the job.

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

Windows 10 upgrade problem, no input accepted

I really hate having to come here and ask for help, but I really am stumped. It hurts my geek pride. I have a PC with fairly modern hardware in it. It has a p8p67 pro in it. I have tried upgrading windows 10 on it twice now. Both times I have had the same result.

After windows finishes upgrading it goes to the log in/set up screen. I can't do anything. No keyboard or mouse input is accepted.

I will list some, or hopefully all, of the troubleshooting steps I have tried:
    • Move keyboard and mouse to different USB ports.
    • Try different keyboard or mouse.
    • Restart computer, repeatedly.
    • Google for related issues.
    • Update Bios, because why not.
    • Create boot media and revert to windows 7.
The windows 10 system restore boot media works fine with keyboard and mouse. All USB ports work in windows 7. I don't know what is wrong. I suspect that windows 10 is lacking a driver of some sort, but since the computer accepts no input I have no way of checking for which driver let alone installing it.

Please help me figure this out. If I have to revert back to windows 7 again, I am not going to get it upgraded to windows 10. Thank you in advanced.
