Windows 10: Windows 10 and Windows 8.1

I am using Parallels Virtual Machine on my mac to run Windows, I also use Cleanmymac X and discovered that I have both Windows 10.pvm and Windows 8.1 new.pvm on my system. Do I need to keep Windows 8.1 new.pvm or is it safe to remove it? I don't know if Windows 10 needs Windows 8.1 to operate.
