I thought it was Debian who set those names.

Oh how I yearn for the days when I could just run the Windows Performance Edition with all this bloatware not being installed. I wish I could opt out of these types of updates. But that will never happen.

  3. Yes, now that I think about it, you are correct. My bad. Raspbian is based on Debian. *Redface I lost track of who actually set the names.

I was going to ask the exact same thing... whether it would be 17134.1 and then to be immediately followed by a cumulative update to bring it to 17134.5 or whether the MCT will create a single new 17134.5 version with no immediate updates.

Unknown - it could be either.

MS do have the option of changing the base build that the MCT creates. For example, 16299 was initially released as 16299.15 but according to the products.xml that the MCT now uses, that was revised in December and the MCT will now make media for 16299.125.

MS have the option to revise the build for 17134 before or after release, depends on how busy they are I guess.

AFAIK the base iso is only updated when issues are identified that prevent the base iso updating to latest version (at the time).

Most of us are already on Build 17134.5, so at the very least, that's what we should get.

Thanks guys. Only asking because I very recently clean installed 17134.1 using Kari's excellent Tut and so don't desperately want to do it all again. Guess we will all know soon enough though *Smile

I'm running Build 16299.402 on my "official" FCU, Bree.

Yup, and as I said, my guess is that they'll release at least Build 17134.5, since that's the last Build they've released. Numbers could go up from there.

    We'll know tomorrow. *Smile

Curious, Cyberrufus; what makes you think they'll go backwards from a cumulative update to Build 17134.5?

  12. Don't think they'll go backward- they'll release a cumulative update. The products.xml file from the MCT is floating around out there and indicates 17134.1.

I REALLY do hope that it will resolve the issue with KB4093112 that rendered the Start Menu non-responsive and kept on asking for a restart.

I have disabled updates for a month, just waiting for this issue to be resolved...
